Title: Accountant Policy Manager

Our client is looking for a CPA to join a smart, fast-growing team! the Accounting Policy Team focuses on technical accounting, application of new accounting standards, accounting for significant estimates and fair value, external reporting, and their implications for our business. This group regularly partners with several internal teams and leads all company initiatives related to technical accounting and the application of US GAAP.
This position will be a driver for technical accounting matters for a growing company as well as materials for both internal and external presentations and projects. This position will also lead in establishing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls and determining the accounting treatment for specific accounting issues. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting Policy and work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer, as well as other leaders in the Finance Department and offers plenty of opportunity for career growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise

Lead the implementation, updating and maintaining of accounting policies and procedures for current and new company initiatives

Monitor and assess the impact of newly released regulations and pronouncements and assist in the implementation of accounting and reporting related to new pronouncements

Support senior management in communicating technical accounting matters, disclosure requirements and peer comparisons to various committees

Communicate regularly with external auditors, and coordinate with the preparation and review of the annual financial statements

Ensure timely issuance of required reports in full compliance with applicable standards and guidance

Research and implement new accounting policies as the Company continues to expand its product lines

Assist the accounting department in preparation of a future initial public offering

Able to prepare and review various ad-hoc reports to assist other departments with various initiatives

Job requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in finance or accounting
-
CPA required
-
5-8 years of relevant work experience, preferably public accounting experience and/or technical accounting experience

Experience with securitization accounting in accordance with ASC-810 and ASC-860 preferred

Fintech and/or other financial services experience preferred

Experience with Implementation of ASC-326 (CECL) preferred

Strong GAAP knowledge and financial accounting acumen

Public Company experience preferred

Workiva experience is a plus
