Our client is expanding into the Medical Device market and they are seeking a Quality / Mechanical Inspector who will ensure part deliveries and daily manufacturing meet or exceed quality specifications. This role represents a one-person Quality Department supported by outsourced Quality consulting teams. The ideal candidate must have a manufacturing background along with experience reading mechanical drawings, conducting hands-on inspections, and using various tools to assess product conformity/non-conformity. You must also be computer literate so inspection results can be properly documented. Experience in a regulated environment is preferred but not required. To be successful in this position, you will utilize your strong attention to detail to ensure exceptional product quality and drive process improvement. Responsibilities:

  • Inspect purchased parts, materials, assemblies, and final production

  • Use calipers, gauges, and other tools to measure part dimensions and compare them to prints

  • Maintain the accuracy of the calibration system and all inspection devices

  • Support the audit process

  • Document inspection results by completing reports and summarizing rework/waste

  • Ensure accurate maintenance and compliance of all quality records

  • Manage the nonconforming material process and determine the disposition

  • Assist with supplier qualification and act as the primary contact when quality issues arise

  • Collaborate with Engineering & Quality Consultants to develop product policies and procedures

  • Determine and implement corrective action measures to resolve customer complaints

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing setting required

  • Experience using calipers and tools to measure part dimensions and compare to prints required

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, documents, and blueprints required

  • Ability to work on-site, full-time required

  • Computer proficiency required; ability to complete documentation in Microsoft Word/Excel

 

This is for a permanent full-time position to start immediately.
